Movies and robots have one thing in common: they are the works of Man. Films about robots are often created by Man and speak about Man’s status as a creator.
But what are these machines, really? Simple programmable computers or emotional characters that are worthy of love, capable of hatred, and prone to do good or evil? If, by creating beings in his own image, Man defies his Creator, could robots do the same and rebel against Man?
Whether they’re humorous sidekicks, maleficent brains or passionate lovers, movie robots are always specific to one particular genre: science-fiction.
