The International Napoleonic Society will hold its 11th International Napoleonic Congress at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Canada this summer – July 29 to August 3, 2013. Scholars from throughout the world will be gathering together to share important new research dealing with the momentous events that happened in Europe and North America during 1812-1814. Scheduled on this year’s program: a tour of Fort York, a possible wine and battlefield tour in the Niagara region, and a cruise on Lake Ontario.
In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Josephine Bonaparte’s birth, The International Napoleonic Society has the pleasure of also welcoming Sandra Gulland, the Canadian author of the famed Josephine B. trilogy, who will be speaking at the Congress to reveal her plans for her next new novel and discuss her participation in the newly-released two-part documentary series In Search of Josephine, a film which revisits the extraordinary life of the former French Empress, as well as her tumultuous marriage to Napoleon Bonaparte.
Discounted signed copies of Gulland’s Josephine B. Trilogy and the DVD In Search of Josephine (sponsored by The International Napoleonic Society) will be available for purchase at this event.
